About the Role

Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Lead to come in and work with them on a temp contract for 6-12 months.

Candidates for this role must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong end to end knowledge and experience in Accounts Receivable processing
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead performance through setting clear direction and expectations, providing support and feedback and monitoring ongoing performance of individuals and the team.
  • Local government experience (Essential)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational Leadership: Manage end-to-end accounts receivable, billing, collections, and debt management to meet service standards.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide expert advice on complex billing and collection processes, including infrastructure charges and licenses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with leadership to drive innovation and process improvements aligned with legislative frameworks.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle complex, high-sensitivity stakeholder issues and escalations using strong judgment and discretion.
  • Culture & Customer Focus: Model Council values and leadership principles to drive a collaborative, customer-centric team environment.
  • Team Development: Lead workforce planning, career development, professional growth, and active performance management.
  • Performance & Risk Management: Monitor operational metrics, manage budgets, and review internal controls to mitigate risk.

About You

You will be an experienced Accounts Receivable leader with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong end to end knowledge and experience in Accounts Receivable processing
